Secret 6 … I'm still due two visits from the tooth fairy

At the grand old age of 38, I still have two of my milk teeth. The incisors. So far, so weird.

But, weirder and rather alarmingly, when they do eventually fall out…there are no adult teeth waiting to come down. I’m completely missing a pair of teeth. Not my adult incisors in fact, as they are next to my front middle teeth i.e in the wrong place. My dental arrangements are pretty complex.

More alarmingly a recent x-ray showed that the milk teeth are hanging on by a thread, i.e their demise could be imminent. So when they do finally come out, I will have large gaping holes. Children will point and stare and run back to mummy, and I will inadvertently whistle when i talk like a mad old lady. Might as well grow a beard while I’m at it.

Im still due two more visits from the Tooth Fairy

I'm still due two more visits from the Tooth Fairy

On a more positive note, that means I’m due two more visits from the tooth fairy. Yay! How much do you get these days? At least a quid, surely?

So two of our finest British pounds as compensation for becoming gappy, whistling bearded woman? Definitely worth it.

I’m hoping the Good Hair Fairy might take pity on me soon. Although the Ken Dodd look as shown here might divert attention away from the dental issues. Although the beard might balance it quite nicely?

  • You and Ali are scaring me now. I have to go. I've got to call the dentist. I need an xray.
  • How strange about your missing teeth. I'm glad your baby teeth are still hanging on..for now ;) My hubby has EXTRA teeth. Poly-dental!! In X-ray the dentist saw extra teeth waiting in the gums to emerge for when his ADULT teeth fall out. One in a million, I tell ya!
  • Eeek Amber, double teeth..like a shark!! Perhaps he could pass a couple my way to save £zillion in dental bills when mine finally clock it?
  • alright, so i'm reading all the secrets, one at a time...

Mum's family were from Lowestoft I think and they had an old farm there can't remember the name of it right now but will ask her. They are Aldred's... now I sound all American telling you the names of people you obviously would never in a million years know!!!! I lived in Salisbury for a long time and consider that home although the rest of the dys six as I like to call them are spread all over the place...Portsmouth, Wales, Coventry... blah blah blah....
  • WAAAAAH!!! LOL, go head, ask me if I know the Queen.....;-) well, oddly, I don't know the Aldreds of Lowestoft. But then I've only lived in Suffolk for 6 months and I've not ventured as far as Lowestoft yet. But when I get there, I will be sure to ask for the Aldreds and I'll tell them that Ali sent me.

I hear ya babe!! I get an email when anyone comments (er, not much at the moment, week 1 of blogging live!)

Now that is very freaky, we are separated at birth!!!

My boobs are Gone Forever, no hoisting needed alas. Quite the reverse, small anyway (think, asprins on ironing boards) and then eaten off by breastfeeding children. Sigh.

Oooh were in Suffolk? We've only lived here for a few months, made The Move from London. Originally I'm from Somerset, although all my family are from around Liverpool...oh, it's complicated.

So pleased I 'found' you. I heart Julie, actually i think I might have a crush on her...LOL....I stalking her all around the interweb. SHRIEK!!

My site is about to change and look nasty for a bit BTW, my husband is taking it over to my own hosted doo dah blah blah blah.

If you comment on an old post will it be heard?
I have teeth hanging by a threat...MY TWO FRONT TEETH!!!
Now there's a daily wake up call I can tell you, it's been like that since the age of 13, a very very long time ago. Once I get the present farce of dentistry fixed that is next on my list. Right up there with the liposuction of the chins and the hoisting of the boobs.
With regard to the poppy field... another awesome picture... I am floored!!!! love poppy fields!!! I can see us becoming bff's!!!!! p.s. my Mum's side of the family hails from Suffolk maybe we're long lost cousins or something???

I must say I do think I could make some kind of claim here? Because when they drop out it's going to cost a mint. But then I worry about that whole 'what goes around comes around stuff'...will my boys make claims against me for the amount of Kids TV I have forced them to watch, and damaged their eyesight etc etc.

But I can't help but feel short changed. Where the HELL are my missing pair of teeth for God's sake? x
  • i see things like this as reason for parents to provide some sort of financial support for the whole mental suffering due to bad genetics thing. i'm one diopter from needing a dog without my glasses and try endlessly to get my parents to pay for my glasses....thus far it hasn't worked, but perhaps it will work with your parents?
