Oh Spud. That is sucky. But as always, cute picture of the megaboys!
Ahhhh, the joys of the family’s summer road trip……I bow to you….
I wish I was in England on a road trip…..can’t wait to see photos of the adventure! Your boys are beautiful…..
S
don’t you just love above mentioned type road trips??? well I’m sure right now you don’t, but when you look back…..years later…
love your boys :)
Could those boys be any cuter? My one regret with my son is that we live so far away from family. (1000 miles across the U.S.) He rarely saw his grandparents/aunts/uncles/cousins growing up. We’d see them once a year if we were lucky. That’s a real loss.
Makes the long car rides worth it.
I can’t believe that photo was a candid shot. The composition could not have been more perfect. Ilove the photos of the megaboys, keep em comin!
Thanks everyone…Mari I can’t ever really ‘enjoying’ the road trips! The roads can be so congested here, it’s pretty miserable!
Deb, yes it looks staged doesn’t it? We’d grabbed them out of the car and woken them up, and plonked them on a sofa in the cafe while MrSpud foragged for caffeine and snacks. And they just collapsed in front of me like that, very sweet.

I am glad you finally saw at least a FEW baloons. My boys need even plane flights to reach their grandparent, aunts, uncles, cousins etc. Most of them are in the reach of two hous by plane (and across the Channel), some – in the other direction in Soouth America – more than 12 hours (by planes again). So just consider two nice e-books for the Megaboys for the next time, they can work a miracle… When we still lived in Germany and went to see my in-laws our then 3 to 6 year old had his “My first Sony” and WE became familiar with many of his favourite fairy tales and Bob the Builder etc (no headphones!!!!) But a can’t remember a single tantrum (from both sides) nor a grumpy boy after the trips. Contrary to the tiny I-Pod of our youngest, which is constantly lost, this big read tape-recorder was always there and with him.
How is your back?
hey, you and me just finished writing and it says 8th of August!!!! but it`s the 11th!!!!
Sympathy. I know what it’s like to be far from family and with a hideous journey to get to them. Not fun at all. I comfort myself by remembering that it’s the quality of time they spend together, not the quantity, that’s important.
There there my little Spud, don’t worry it DOES get better! We didn’t do road trips for about a year or so ‘cos I just couldn’t stand the stress of it all but now I love it! Ash is still a handful on the road but mostly they are happy to look out the window and chatter about whether we’re in Nanny Land yet (Florida) and they try and look for wildlife, trees, all kinds of stuff.
There’s a light at the end of the tunnel… it’s tiny right now but every day it’s getting bigger!!!
p.s. you’re right though, road trips in England are more stressful ‘cos drivers are assholes!!! hahahahahaaaaaaa hhhhhaaaaaaa ahhhhhhaaaaaaaaa now I’m losing it!!!!!! better go.
Oh, Spud. The balloon fiesta – what a stinkin’ bummer. Of course you can find a way to write it and make it funny.
oh joy…the iphone is back. What a wonderful happy ending!
Hey, Spud… I spread a little love on ya over at How to Become a Cat Lady…
Stop by for your award!
Very cute photo – look at those curls!
BUT – you crack me up. And so does the apparently crappy Balloon Fiesta! xx
