Feeling fizzy

“Feeling fizzy”…that’s how us tired but happy Blog Camp 1.5 girls described ourselves this morning over breakfast; a kind of energetic bubbling up of excitement and giddyness at our blossoming friendships. We all went to bed very very late, but no one could sleep at first because of the ‘fizzy’ feeling. Our lovely hostess Beth, astonishingly eloquent for rather early in the morning, described it so elegantly as being that rare emotion that a few, select girlfriends can inspire, almost akin to ‘romantic love’ if you like. She explained it so perfectly, but ‘fizzy’ is a good summary of what it feels like. If we could bottle it and sell it we’d be millionaires!

I’m too zonked to write with any thought plus I’m still ‘processing’ the weekend through my mind and waiting for something insightful to drop out the other end.  We talked about everything, we photographed everything, we ate, we drank, we went on a trip, some of us were 2 hours late arriving and got lost on the way despite being the only native Brit attending, there were laughs, and debate, there was teasing, some people put their foot in it but the others were too kind to make a big deal of it (phew), there were presents galore and a lot of this:

But mostly we just felt fizzy. And we liked it! And we want some more of it! And we wouldn’t mind another round of those fizzy Kir Royales (pictured above) knocked up by Beth’s super husband. Cheers!

Oh, and it turns out that the ‘Group Jump’ shot hasn’t improved since Blog Camp 1.0. Shabby…very, very…shabby.

  4. So well said!
Oh, the fizz, the home made jam (and yogurt, and scones…), the friendships, the conversations, the presents, the jumping, the laughs, the stones… such a great weekend!

  5. Oh, I’m just trying to write about it — and feeling (still) so fizzy and giddy and just downright smiley and happy.

LOVE the picture of B and Polly.

The jumping really did STINK. (I obviously thought it was a directive to do a lot of arm-waving.)

So glad that you got home safe. (I’m assuming that you aren’t blogging from Little Chef?) xx

  6. Beee, hellooooo! The travel gods smiled on me and it was a mere 3.5 hours home, hoorah. I’m ‘fizzing’ like mad. I should go to bed but I’m too fizzy….;-) x

  7. what is more beautiful/fizzy: the lovely glass or the contents? just enjoy the fizzyness and don’t worry about the jump!!!!

  8. yes yes fizzy schmizzy where the hell is my gravatar??????????????

your post is making me fizzy…with anticipation… do you think yanks will be so fun or do you have to be Euro to do the whole blog camp thing? I’m really thinking it doesn’t matter since Julie and Bee Drunken (why didn’t I know about her?!!) are both this side of the ponders!!!

I have missed you this weekend my dearest little spudlia.. can’t wait to see what you produce from all this… and you went to Stonehenge.. you were so in my neck of the woods!!!!!!!!!!! Did you see any of Salisbury of just the Henge???????

  9. Oh how I long for fizzy…

    The jumping pictures are fantastic!

  10. I’m guessing I won’t have an effin gravatar. And that makes me grrrrravitate towards more wine…

Anyway, I’m so so jealous, but more of a happy, friendly giddy, fizzy kind of jealousy. I so wish I could meet the euro crowd, but I’m so so SO looking forward to our stateside camp. We won’t have stonehenge, but we’ll have lots of lights and glitter and bells and whistles.

Looks like you had soo much fun. And your jumping sucks :D

Oh, got your LOVELY package yesterday!! I love them soo sooo much.

So NEENER NEENER ALI! SPUD LOVES ME TOO!!!

  11. HEY LOOK! NO EFFING GRRRRRRRRRAVITAR!!!

  12. I can tell you why our line is so slow or even dead (and of course I cannot make it too public). Our provider for internet via satellite is run by either criminals or absolute dummies. they explained the cut a few days ago due to not being able to use the direct debit, so we “we had not paid”. hahaha (we couldn’t believe our ears). than they promissed to build up a line again as soon as we paid by pay-pal. indeed, as soon as they had the number of our credit card we were online again. yesterday my husband recieved an e-mail from pp that they had to stop that transaction as there were suspicious movements on this provider’s account… so we are waiting for the weekly cut again!!! whereas the decreasing speed comes from us using more than GB each month, at least that’s what they tell us. we have no clue how we do it as we don’t use youtube or any other streaming of music and films, just the normal websites and a few songs at i-tunes or some updates for our software. a the provider isn’t in the position to give us any detailed report of our consumed mega or gigabytes. our new vodafone device doesn’t help for a great speed either, so it’s just a backup for using e-mails in the worst case scenario or for opening one or two websites which might take 2 minutes or more for each!!!! you see: rural ireland is the end of the world – at least in regard to the connection to rest of the world! probably there are better connections in timbuktu or siberia. and recession won’t make things better. anyway – I am online and I wish you a happy week and good recovery from the FIZZ. eliane

  13. Sound like a fantabulous weeken, and I am certainly envious of your fizzy feeling. I find that large scale retail therapy can induce the same endorphin release… But is short lived.look forward to the rest of the images x

  14. Oh, how I long for that fizzy feeling and for blog camp. And to meet such a wonderful Spuddles!

  15. Just for the record – I’m wearing blong wig in that second photo and I only look so big because I’m walking next to tiny B!

But seriously, it’s already Monday afternoon but I’m still fizzing too. It was GREAT meeting you all. We MUST do a repeat sometime soon.

I’m glad you got home okay. Having dropped off Kristina and Julie at Heathrow before 7pm I managed to be home for 8. No traffic on A406 whatsoever.

  16. love your photos! the jumping shots are just hilarious! it was lovely to meet you and I look forward to seeing you again soon :-)

  18. I love, love, love jumping photos. Have you ever seen The Jump Book by Phillipe Halsman? I think you’d like it.
