Help!

It's getting out of control...

Can’t…stop…making…stuff…

Crappy iphone shot. Arms are both broken after shooting the valentine’s garland. Occupational hazard I guess…

This is mostly Julochka‘s fault. She’s either my ‘enabler’ or my ‘craft stash pusher’ (her term), depending on how gracious I’m feeling. Last night she was tempting me with a Gocco printer, but I fear my craft budget has been blown this month with the purchase of a sewing machine and an alarming amount of Debbie Bliss cashmerino wool. It’s surprising how much wool you need for crochet, especially when you don’t read the pattern properly and make 20 bad(ass) grannies and have to start again…

Once my arms are fixed I might attempt a ‘work in progress’ shot of the grannies. I’m getting on for half way through the granny part of the blanket. But then there’s all that tedious darning in of loose threads, blocking, sewing together of squares and grannying around the whole thing as a border to be done.

Should be done by Christmas.

Christmas 2012.

  1. What you are experiencing dear Spudkins is a condition known as “diarrhea of creativity”. You’d best just go with it because if you hold back, you’ll burst and it won’t be pretty. Besides, I’m loving watching the birth of your creations.

  2. Keep practizing, you still run the chance to become really good at it.

  3. Adorable hearts! And the cards? LOVE LOVE that little dotty stamp. Getting all caught up in crafting is a ball, yes?

  4. OH! Picke me, pick me, I want to be your Valentine! What adorable cards! I love it when I get in a craft trance…..I always get a little ‘high’ when I’m creating.

and spud..i thought crafting was supposed to be relaxing and fun :)

  7. wow, so great! the cards are lovely! I’d love to do something creative as well, but I’m spending all my time studying and reading..

  8. OI, don’t you have a real job? or are you just not sleeping at night? or have you hired a nanny? how are you stretching the hours in a day?
Very cute cards… very very very cute. I’m quiting my job to become a Spud.

  9. Love the fun banners! Sooo cute. You crack me up….you remind me of when my husband started buying relaxation CD’s…can’t have just one or two…or no, when you want to really relax you must have ten or twenty! I hope you are having fun crafting… but beware…creativity often leads to even more creativity….But then you’ve figured that out haven’t you.

  10. Have you ever see a TV show called Gilmore Girls?
There was a character who was a total Type A and her therapist (or life coach or whatever) encouraged her to do crafts for relaxation. Hilarity ensued . . . of course . . . as she grimly crafted through her crazy, insomniac nights.

  11. well done (to Julochka ;-) Imagine this comment being a greeting card from icy Vienna! Eliane

  12. see now, i was pretty sure these were already done on a gocco, so all i was doing was asking, “did you get a gocco?” which is different than trying to make you buy one. that only came after, when you said, “what’s a gocco?” and then i explained how they’re scarce since RISO isn’t making them anymore, making it even more URGENT to acquire one RIGHT AWAY!!

look at me, using capital letters.

i am a craft pusher. what can i say?

  13. You post stuff like this and I just get the little green envy thing … you are so talented

  14. I love your crafty bits. LOVE them. So, here it is Valentine’s Day and I had to stop by and wish you a great one.

    a wish from me:

On this day, may you know, really know how much you are loved. May you recognize love in all it’s forms. May you be grateful for the love of children and pets, old friendships and new. May your heart swell with all the beauty this life brings. Happy Valentine’s Day, my friend.

  15. WOW – those cards look amazing! Well done and go you! xx
