Diggy, whining: “I’m cold, brrrr….I’m cold mummy…I’m freeeeeeeezing!”

Me: “Don’t be silly, it’s not cold”

Diggy, crossly: “I am Mummy I am! Are you ME?”

Me, bashful: “Well, no…I’m not you”

Diggy, triumphant: “Well then you can’t know if I’m cold or not. I am me. And you are not in charge of me. I am in charge of myself. Everyone is in charge of their own selves.”

Exit Spud, followed by a Wise Man.

  1. 4 year olds can be very clever!

  2. Oh my! You can’t argue with logic can you?

  3. Indeed…they are smart as smart things. I was quite lost for words, most unusual…!

  4. Wise little boy, but I’m pretty sure it’s something that gets mentioned in your house ;-) and he’s picked up on it, clever little angel.

  5. It’s fab isn’t it? Had the same conversation with Millie once, but hers was about hunger!

  6. What a lovely photo. Very envious of your skills!

And yes, he’s a wise ol’ soul!

  7. I think that Diggy must have a very trusting relationship with his mummy to be able to speak so truthfully to her…to know that he would be heard and respected….

  8. what gorgeous eye(s) was the first thing I noticed. Yes everything is literal at the age, but make you laugh

  9. Daisy…ha, these littlies are so smart sometimes, grrr. x
